• My first week here was when he put the salad dressing in the salad and ate it out of the bag. My little brother calls him the lettuce guy.

• I am much more involved in church.

It’s about time that you met the wife of the infamous man of action, Josiah Katz. She is an incredible woman that helps lead the Financial Peace University actiongroup and doesn’t like potatoes. Meet the go-to woman at the actionkidz table on Sunday mornings, Rachel Katz!

What do you do here at actionchurch?

• On Sunday mornings, mostly actionkidz check-in and leading actionkidz with Josiah. I’m often the runner to go to Weis or home to get something someone forgot.

How did you first get involved?

• I got married and I needed to get involved. I started the baby/toddler section of actionkidz.

What is your favorite thing about actionchurch?

• The community and the people because that’s what the most important thing is about a church.

What do you do outside of actionchurch?

• I’m the Service Adviser for my father-in-law’s auto repair shop.

What are your hobbies?

• I like to start crafts, not really finish them. I like to cook, bake, and entertain.

• Farewell Flight

What is the most memorable moment you have of Pastor Don?

• We were making cake pops for the actionchurch’s fourth birthday party. He put the icing in the microwave even though it had the foil on and it burst into flames!

How has actionchurch changed you?

• It has pushed me out of my comfort zone. I was raised in a family church and now I work to make friends at church.

Do you have a favorite scripture or some words of wisdom that you would like to share with the people of actionchurch?

• ¹⁷ For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. ¹⁸ So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:17-18 NIV)

• Whereever I find things that I can apply my talents to successfully, I do.

How did you first get involved?

• My roommate brought me to actionchurch. I was looking for a place that shared my beliefs with no dogma or adulterated spirituality turned into religion.

What is your favorite thing about actionchurch?

• The unfiltered message.

What do you do outside of actionchurch?

• I’m a green guy; definitely an environmentalist.

What are your hobbies?

• I ride motorcycles, am a gear head, and I’m in a rock band. I try anything if I think I can apply myself to it.

What is the most memorable moment you have of Pastor Don?

• It’s really a collection of moments that are memorable. His preaching — the message is awesome!

How has actionchurch changed you?

• It has made me more willing to wear my spirituality on my sleeve. Yeah, I’m Christian.

What do you do here at actionchurch?

• Whatever I am told to do, mostly at actionkidz.

How did you first get involved?

• We stayed after church one day and I put myself and my kids to work.

What is your favorite thing about actionchurch?

• Everyone is genuine and stands by loving God, loving people, and taking action.

What do you do outside of actionchurch?

• I home school my daughters, am a Girl Scout leader, sell Thirty One, and blog.

What are your hobbies?

• I enjoy vegan baking, quilting, knitting, and am a florist by trade.

What is the most memorable moment you have of Pastor Don?

• When he talked about how passionate about potatoes he was.

How has actionchurch changed you?

• It’s helped me with authenticity and walking with Jesus.

Do you have a favorite scripture or some words of wisdom that you would like to share with the people of actionchurch?

• ⁶ Don’t worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God. ⁷ Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel. (Philippians 4:6-7 CEV)

Some would say he’s addicted to coffee, and Relay for Life didn’t quite counter that theory. He also happens to eat a lot of peanut butter and is a self-proclaimed chocoholic! In fact, he puts away a jar of peanut butter in about three days and has NEVER said the words “too much chocolate” ever. He believes everything about him is quirky, just ask his kids! • I just carry out whatever I can.

How did you first get involved?

• I asked Josiah for a job and he gave me one. I got to know him better when we were in the Financial Peace University actiongroup.

What is your favorite thing about actionchurch?

• The community. We came from a large church where it was hard to get to know people and get involved.

What do you do outside of actionchurch?

• I am a coffee roaster.

What are your hobbies?

• Mountain bikes and road bikes.

• Photoside Cafe

What is the most memorable moment you have of Pastor Don?

• We went out to dinner with them once. When we left, their car wouldn’t start and we went to K-Mart five minutes before they closed and we had to run to the back of the store to get what we needed.

How has actionchurch changed you?

• I think I was a Sunday-only Christian sometimes before. The community and involvement here has made me mindful for Monday through Saturday as well.
