41 Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people. He also divided the fish for everyone to share. 42 They all ate as much as they wanted, 43 and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftover bread and fish. Mark 6:41-43

Jesus asked the disciples to bring what they had. He broke the 5 loaves and 2 fish into pieces.  He blessed them…and somehow multiplied lunch for one, into too much for 10,000+ to consume!  Jesus turned “not enough” into “more than enough”!

Bring  +   Break  +  Bless = the Miracle of Multiplication.

This Sunday we began talking about this story (and these simple principals) as part of an interactive sermon series.   In addition to asking everyone to incorporate these principals into their lives, we are launching a church-wide “experiment”,.a “live without a net” demonstration of this ancient principal. We are depending on the miracle of Multiplication.  We need our small resources to make a huge impact at this years Relay for Life.  (read about it here)   We are depending on our meager “not enough”, to be turned into a “more than enough” experience for all the people we have the priviledge to serve on June 22-23rd at York School of Technology.

This Sunday we challenged everyone to BRING what they have.In order to make this happen we’ll need money, hard work, and LOTS of food! :-)  Many of you have already signed up, and  the next two weeks you’ll be able to do just that.  EVERYONE can participate.  EVERYONE has something we will need.

This coming Sunday (6/10) we’ll talk about the “Break” aspect of the miracle and begin to collect the things you bring.

In two weeks (Fathers Day 6/17) we’ll have a special day for dads as we discuss the “Bless” aspect of the story and gather the final things needed for our relay efforts.

What’s going to happen on 6/24?  We don’t know yet…but I know that you can be part of the storie(s) told that Sunday.

Bring + Break + Bless = Something you will not want to miss being part of…
