Sunday @ actionchurch

So far in “the Antidote” series, we’ve covered some hard-hitting topics.  We’ve talked about the importance of judging ourselves according to the Bible, what real (and phony) faith looks like, how to keep our big mouths from getting ourselves into big trouble, and why men over 40 should NOT wear skinny jeans.  (The last one is not from the Bible…but I’m sure James would agree) :-)

This week we will be discussing James Chapter 4, and  questions that have puzzled religious people since the times that James wrote his letter to scattered followers of Jesus:    What do we need to do to please God?  What does it mean to be “worldly”?  How can we “go into the world and spread the Good news of Jesus”, and not be a “friend of the world”?  It all sounds very confusing, but fortunately for us, James uses a very simple (and pointed) analogy to help his readers understand.  So, before you bury a school bus in the back yard, put up some razor wire, and rename your home a “compound” to avoid being worldly, you might want to come out and be part of this weeks service. (The whole “compound” building thing seems like a lot more work)  We’ve also got some great Rock n Roll on tap from the Burning State, and actionkidz has a great hour planned,  packed with the truth of the Bible (along with lots of fun!) for your kids.  (Ages six weeks to 5th grade)

It all starts at 10:30 am at Frank Theaters Queensgate (Directions).  Come earlier to enjoy  Coffee, Maple Donuts, bagels, and Muffins with the friendly folks of actionchurch.  Don’t miss it.
