Mark your calenders!  York Relay for Life is happening June 12-13th at the York County School of Technology (2179 S. Queen St).  We will be putting the “action” in actionchurch by raising money for the American Cancer society, signing up teams of walkers for the event, providing inflatables for the children’s area (last year’s pictured above) and in short making sure the event is a great success for ACS  in every way we can as a church!  actionchurch artists will be also providing music for the event on the main stage…as I said make sure and mark your calenders.

This will be our 3rd year being part of the Relay for Life in York County.  That’s right, before actionchurch was even a “church” meeting on Sundays we were taking “action” to help those in our community affected by this terrible disease.  Check out these “tales from relay’s past”  Here  Here  or  Here.

Upcoming Stuff:

May 17th  (Relay Sunday)   In less than two weeks we will be having our Sunday kickoff for our relay efforts.  We’ll have guest speakers sharing their stories of overcoming cancer (sometimes in a very funny way- don’t miss them!)   I was blown away last year about how powerful it is to gather for one day to share our stories our hopes and our passion to do something about it!

As part of the service we would like to recognize and pray for all those who are either dealing with cancer in their family, friends, or personally. Please Email names to info@actionchurch.com and indicate “in memory of”, “in support of” or “in honor of”. We will also have a sign up sheet at church on Sunday. We will be putting the names on luminaria (pictured below) around the club on Sunday the 17th.

  1. My family, on both sides of my parents, has had cancer deaths. I think that it has slowed down somewhat recently, due to better health services and education. So basically, any money we give or raise, has a direct benefit to our society. It will go to more research, medical equipment and education. Those three things has saved lives and will continue to do so if funded, and will also improve. Let’s give this cause the “actionchurch act of passion,” and save lives. Thanks Don, for directing us to this cause.
