When disaster strikes, when there’s a hole in your boat and you’re adrift at sea, you can’t exactly sit back and just hope for rescue. It’s not enough to just “dream” of better days coming in the future. If you want to survive, while you pray you better be bailing out water and paddling like crazy!
It’s easy to get in “survival mode” and stop hoping and dreaming for better days to come. However, studies of people who have survived horrible situations show that without hope and prayer, without dreams of a better future, most people will give up “bailing”…quit swimming…stop holding on.
So where are you at? Are you “hanging on”? Are you avoiding dealing with your disaster and just “hoping” for rescue? Are you just focusing on “surviving” and forgetting to pray and dream of a much better future? All of the above?
12 I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. 13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Phil. 4:12-13
