New Year

Happy New Year actionchurch!   I’m praying that 2013 will be a year of peace, growth and joy for all of us.   However, in spite of all the New Years Day tweets, texts, and emails you will receive today, most things in your life will NOT be new tomorrow.

Most of us will not go to a new job tomorrow.  In fact, most of the stuff that we put off before Christmas vacation will be waiting for us.

Most of us (hopefully…unless you are having a New Years Day wedding :-) will not be starting a new marriage tomorrow.

Most of us did not wake up to a new financial situation this morning. (Yep, even if they mostly come electronically, they still send out bills in 2013.)

Most of us will not start a new school, have all new friends, suddenly understand quadratic equations tomorrow morning.

Most of us did not wake up to a new body this morning, and to be honest our old one is a little jacked up from a two week diet of Candy, Candy Canes, and Christmas Cookies.  In fact, most of this “New” Year we will be dealing with “old stuff” from our years before.

I read these words this morning and wanted to share them with you:

12 So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees. 13 Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong.”    (Hebrews 12:12-13)

That is what I look forward to sharing with all of you in the coming months at actionchurch.  I look forward to marking out straight paths from the Bible that will help us to not fall…but instead become STRONG in this New Year.  Even though most of our situations will not change, I am certain that God wants to help us gain a NEW GRIP on truly successful living in 2013.  I am certain that God has NEW paths…and new insight for all of us, and I’m excited that actionchurch can be part of how he reveals it to us.

It all starts Sunday.  Same old place.  Same old time.  Hope to  see you…and some new faces as well.

-Don
