Technical Difficulties

So we had a few technical difficulties Sunday.  Sydney and Maddie even managed to memorialize our giant blank screen with a “technical difficulties selfie”.  Thanks Ladies! (really, I mean that…I laughed out loud when it popped up on my twitter feed) :-)   Actually, Sunday was filled with FAR more difficulties (technical and otherwise) than just the moment when our opening video was without sound just before the main keynote froze and had to be re-started right at the beginning of the sermon.  Our faithful truck, Black Betty, didn’t start…so Bill had to do a nascar-speed battery change and the rest of the crew had to unload even faster than normal.  Some equipment that we use every week was left behind the week before. NO ONE at the theater could remember it being turned in after we left, so MUCH time was spent trying to locate the missing items.  (Fortunately, I got a call this week that they had been located.  Unfortunately, it was after their new replacements had shipped.) :-)   I could go on, but I’m betting you’ve had a “morning” like we had Sunday yourself…

So what do you do when stuff breaks?…when mistakes are made?…when it all goes wrong?…on a morning you are talking about THIS PASSAGE?

9 Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. 10 Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. 11 Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. 12 Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. 13 When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. (Romans 12:9-13)

I’m happy to say that Paul’s advice on having Godly relationships works perfectly…even on a morning filled with technical difficulties…ESPECIALLY on a morning filled with technical difficulties!   I am so thankful to be part of a team of people that work SO HARD to do things well, but genuinely LOVE each other, are PATIENT with each other,  and HELP each other when things go wrong.

I am so proud of that team, and I just thought you might want to know…
