Peaceful easy feeling…

I used to think that being at peace meant no turmoil.  No worries.  No stress.  The problem is that life isn’t like that.  If the “lake of life” gets the least bit tranquil…the least bit calm…its certain that something or someone is going to toss a boulder in and create a tidalwave. Thats life.

I’m just beginning to understand that peace-real peace- happens not when life is tranquil, but when things seem most out of control.  Peace begins when you truly understand that God is in control.  When you begin to trust that God the Father truly has your best interest at heart.  Peace comes when you realize that the things you fear most are completely out of your control anyway.  Peace is a gift…in an “in the event of fire break glass for extinguisher” sort of way.

Still working on the whole “at peace” thing…  How about you?

27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.  John 14:27
