So, the reporter in me has to finish this up. Make it neat and tidy. Tie it up with a bow and move on.

In the Genesis Series we talked about WHO – God.
We talked about WHAT – Creation.
We talked about WHERE – Earth.
We talked about WHY – Love.

It’s the WHEN that’s throwing me for a loop. Two “whens” (is that a word?) – actually. What an incredibly vast concept – the beginning of time and the end of time. The whole perception of time is crazy isn’t it?

For instance, (since I’ve been on an iceberg kick this week…..winter coming and all that) – It’s recorded that the great ship – The Titanic – took over two hours and forty minutes from the time it scraped the iceberg to finally bubble to the bottom of the sea. Even in the epic Hollywood rendition of that fateful night it seemed to take an agonizingly long time to sink.

But – I can only imagine – that if you happened to be unfortunate enough to be on that journey – in the middle of a freezing ocean – amidst the panic and turmoil – I bet that the whole thing seemed to happen in the blink of an eye.

So – what about WHEN? Let’s agree to go with something neutral …. like – the beginning of time….no number date. Okay. Now – Jesus gives us the other WHEN in Matthew 24:36…..”But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”

Did that leave you feeling…..like you’re in the dark – in the middle of a cold freezing ocean with no life raft? Do you sometimes feel like life is sucking you down in slow motion? Or in some crazy time warp way is life passing you by with blinding speed?

In typical actionchurch fashion – I’ll say this….I don’t know WHEN.

But, I do know this – until THEN – I have some VERY important things to do. God is going to use me, use all my questions, use my imperfections, even my doubts and my shame – God will use my weaknesses and my strengths – to create something much bigger than me.
