Sunday @ actionchurch

Last Sunday we kicked off a brand new Sermon Series based on the Old Testament story of Ezra.  “The Moment” is a series about a moment when God changed EVERYTHING in (you guessed it) a moment of time.  The book of Ezra tells the story of the people of Israel who had been held captive in Babylon for seventy years.  For seventy years they prayed that God would rescue them.  For seventy years they held on the the prophecy of Jeremiah (Jeremiah 29:11) that promised that one day God would rescue them, restore their fortunes, and return them to their homeland.  One day…in one moment…the pagan King of Persia issued a decree praising the God of Israel, and authorizing the Israelites to return to Jerusalem and rebuild their city and temple.  The king even included funding for the project, and returned all the valuable temple treasures stolen by the Babylonians!  Only God can orchestrate a moment like that.

This Sunday we’ll deal with a couple of really difficult questions about such “God Moments”.  Do “God Moments” still happen today?  And, if they indeed do, why are they so rare?  Why don’t we see “God moments” happen more often?  Sunday will also be jam packed with answering those question, celebrating Mothers, (it’s MOTHERS DAY!), and listening to some great new tunes from the Jesse Baker Band. actionkidz will also be learning from a brand new episode of the “What’s in the Bible” Series.  As always there will also be loads of yummy Maple Donuts, Muffins, Bagels, Hot Coffee, water, and great actionchurch people to hang with.   It all starts at 10:30 am  at Frank Theaters Queensgate (Directions).
