It’s been 30 days since the actionchurch app was launched, and it’s exciting to see how many of you are putting it to use each day. In the last month its grown into a way to connect you with easy access to daily Bible readings, podcasts, online giving, blog posts, and announcement notifications. (And even more is yet to come!) It’s already hard to imagine what we did before we had such a great tool available to our church.
I’m thankful for all the technology that allows us to connect with each other in such an efficient and easily accessible way! I’m also very thankful for Josiah and Rachel Katz who worked hard to make it possible. I also can’t believe how much mobile phone technology has changed since actionchurch began. When we started-up six years ago, iPhones we’re just being released, and the first swing-out-keyboard Android phones were still nearly two years away.
However, the reason we are able to enjoy the benefits of the new app, is not just because technology has changed, but because we are constantly looking for new tools and methods to better “love God, love people, and take action”! The truth is, we’ll leverage anything possible …from the latest “high-tech” app and video technology…to decidedly “low-tech” machines like our ancient but lovable actionchurch truck…even “no-tech” things like cookies (the yummy logo’d kind we give to first time guests-not the browser kind). Nothing is too big. Nothing is too small. Our mission is important and we’re determined to leverage everything possible…every talent…every resource…every influence we have gained as a church to let everyone know the very GOOD NEWS we have found. We’ve been doing it for years, and yet we are just getting started! I can’t wait to see what YOU will bring to the table…the best is yet to come.
19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[b] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” -Jesus (Mathew 28:16)
