This Sunday @ actionchurch

I just realized it’s been THIRTY SUMMERS since I first heard Billy Idol’s “White Wedding” on a transistor radio while working in a field of potatoes on our family farm in Missouri.  (Thanks wikipedia for making me feel old. )  I can remember so clearly how “Mr Idol’s” album became the soundtrack of that summer.  By the time school started in the fall, this “Heavy metal” fan had a new favorite album…and a really disturbing spiked “hair style”.  (Sadly only to be replaced later by a perm-mullet…but that’s a different summer…and a different story) :-)

It’s amazing how certain songs can become totally unforgettable.  They bond themselves to events and times in our lives.  They become part of our story.   This Sunday Morning we’ll be kicking off a Sermon Series celebrating those “sticky” songs…and Psalms (the original “power ballads”)…that have made an impact on our lives.  Steve Warrington will be kicking off the “Psalms of Summer” series to the sound of some great rock covers provided by our new friends in the “Killer Rabbits” band.  This is one July at actionchurch you will not want to miss!

Meanwhile, actionkidz will be back in session for some great moments of learning and fun in the kids area.  As always there will also be loads of yummy Maple Donuts, Muffins, Bagels, Hot Coffee, water, and great actionchurch people to hang with.   It all starts at 10:30 am  at Frank Theaters Queensgate (Directions).
