23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. (Hebrews 10:23-25)
As I read these words from Hebrews this morning, I was fascinated by how perfectly relevant and true this message written to a church 2000+ years ago sounds today. They contain the very REASONS we gather for actionchurch…and I think even more specifically the reasons why we are passionate about getting people to move from the “rows” of Sunday morning, to the “circles” of the actiongroups that are growing to meet all over this county and beyond.
1. God can STILL be trusted to keep his promise.
2. BUT…ALL of us STILL need to be encouraged to do acts of love and good works
3. 2000+ years later, “His Return” has to be CLOSER than it was when this was written…
We want everyone to encouraged, supported, motivated, and challenged. I pray that STARTS in our rows on Sunday mornings…but I know it is MOST effectively put into motion within a small circle of people like those found in an actiongroup. Marian and the actiongroup leaders are working hard…constantly “thinking of” ways to provide even more opportunities for you to be part of the action.
Don’t miss our September actiongroups preview this Sunday.
