I read this verse this morning :
26 And do not approach my altar by going up steps. If you do, someone might look up under your clothing and see your nakedness. Exodus 20:26
…so it may not be a verse that you want to print out and hang on your refrigerator, but I bet the people that showed up to the tabernacle on opening day were glad that God made the “no stairs up to the alter” rule. (Priests at that time wore “skirts” and Fruit of the Loom had not yet invented “tighty whities”.)
I am so thankful we serve a God who thinks of Everything! A God who has a plan for everything…things we don’t even contemplate. I am strangely comforted this morning by the thought that my God chose to give instruction to Moses…just to avoid an awkward “up-skirt” view of the priests by the people worshiping in the tabernacle. I bet they were thankful too.
