Friday that feels like a Thursday…

This week feels “strange” to me. My routine is shattered.  Even though the laws of physics might say that moving tons of snow from our driveway and sidewalks to the yard is technically “work”, I still feel like I didn’t “work” on Saturday or Wednesday. Between our guest speaker two weeks ago and the snowstorm last Saturday, for the first time in two years,  I haven’t preached at actionchurch for two weeks in a row. It’s Friday but it feels like a Thursday…and I’m really fine with that.

Can I tell you something?  I needed the break.  I needed time to “recharge” and “refill”.    I needed a break from the routine and a time to relax and rewind with my family.  It only took a couple of snow storms to remind me of that.  :-)  I’m thankful for the break and excited about speaking to you all this Sunday.

So how about you?  Does a break in your “routine” invigorate you or frustrate you?  What makes you feel “rested”?   What do you do to “recharge”?

  1. Since my “real job” ended last June, I have been constantly hustling to earn a living and provide for my family. Waking up each day with NO idea where your next dollar is coming from can be unnerving at times, but I have come to embrace the challenge and adventure of what each day holds. When the snow hit and I could not get to the warehouse where I run my little operation, I had the chance to play with Cayden all day. Having him and his mom, (my granddaughter) live with us has been one of the greatest blessings I can imagine. Each day he wakes with wide-eyed wonder and is off to explore the house, yard everywhere! He reminds me of how much innocence we loose as we get older. He has also taught me how to really love! The kind without any conditions like the way God loves us. It’s because of that and a hundred others things that I THANK GOD for snow days!
