So how’s your resume?  Is it posted on every job site on the net?  Is is a forgotten file deep in your hard drive?  Haven’t updated it in years?  Does your resume propel you toward being discovered for your dream position?  Or is it keeping you from the life you always dreamed of?   This week in the resume series, we’re going to add a whole new category to your thoughts about your resume.  God KNOWS your resume…and it matters to him.   This week as we explore the resume of someone with an unfamiliar name (but very familiar work!) you’ll begin to see work, career, your resume, and “being discovered” in a brand new light!

Another reason you won’t want to miss Sunday (and why you should invite a friend) is that this week marks the return of the music of American Arson!  In addition to their amazing Detroit rock and roll, we’ll have all the “normal” food and fun that makes actionchurch ANYTHING but a normal Sunday morning at church! We’ve even freed up more parking…so go a head and invite ALL your friends and family that have been curious about actionchurch. We look forward to seeing you at– 10:30 am, 36 W 11th Avenue. (DIRECTIONS), and as usual, the actionkidz crew has a fantastic hour of learning and fun planned for your kids (infant to 6th grade) as well.

genesis copy Last Sunday we began looking at the origin story our universe found in the book of Genesis.  Like most origin stories, the account given in Genesis (which means origin, creation, or beginning BTW) is long on WHY things were created…and very short on HOW. However, even though the creation account is short…and not exactly a detailed “how-to”…it still raises some sharp conflicts with what we believe and value in 2015.  This week we’ll move on to the origin story of man…and woman…along with tackling some of the biggest ‘problems” with Genesis from evolution to human suffering and sexuality.   You won’t want to miss it.

So, join us this Sunday as we discuss the oldest story in the world…in a brand new way. We’ve also got Music from Matt Wheeler and all of the “normal” food and fun that makes actionchurch ANYTHING but a normal Sunday morning at church!

1920x1080-messy

It’s the final week of the “Messy” series, and if you are part of the actionchurch family…or if you are curious to know why being a part of a church is messy…but worth it…we urge you to not miss being part of this Sunday!  In the final installment of this series, we are going to put together ALL of the messy elements that make up church, and show you why you should STOP GOING TO CHURCH…and start BELONGING TO a church family!

This week we will also celebrate communion together as a church, and we have music from our friend Meg and the right sound. We’ve also got all of the “normal” food and fun that makes actionchurch ANYTHING but a normal Sunday morning at church! We’ve even freed up more parking…so go a head and invite ALL your friends and family that have been curious about actionchurch. We look forward to seeing you at– 10:30 am, 36 W 11th Avenue. follower-messy

This month in the “MESSY” series we’ve been discussing the difficult, hard-to-pin-down, dare I say MESSY aspects of being a Jesus follower in 2015.  This week we are going to tackle a big one…one that Jesus said was absolutely essential for eternal life-What we Believe.

What we believe matters, but can we actually change our “beliefs”? Where do our beliefs come from?   What if we want to believe but still doubt?  Why do we do that, anyway?   Whether you are a skeptic or a believer, whether you struggle with doubt or wonder why you’ve just “always believed”, you will NOT want to miss this Messy sermon.

You also won’t want to miss Music from our own Mitch Meador or any of the  “normal” food and fun that makes actionchurch ANYTHING but a normal Sunday morning at church! We’ve even freed up more parking…so go a head and invite ALL your friends and family that have been curious about actionchurch. We look forward to seeing you at…well…at the actionchurch building (that sounds really weird somehow) :-) – 10:30 am (DIRECTIONS), and as usual, the actionkidz crew has a fantastic hour of learning and fun planned for your kids (infant to 6th grade) as well.

essentials

This Sunday we’ll be discussing another ESSENTIAL concept that we need to remember as we set out on the next phase of our journey together as a church.  This week is a big one…a can’t-live-without ingredient of actionchurch.  Perhaps the writer of book of Hebrews said it best when they mentioned this weeks topic:

“And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.” Hebrews 11:6

Yes, this week we are going to talk about Faith…perhaps the most empowering, perplexing, misused and misunderstood teaching of Jesus.   Despite all it’s mystery and power, you’ll leave with not only a clear picture of how faith works according to Jesus, and a clear idea of what actionchurch believes about it, but also an opportunity to put your faith into action as we prepare for serving those affected by cancer in our community at RELAY FOR LIFE 2015.   We’ve also got the new light-weight actionchurch North York T-shirts for sale  (buy one and your both LOOK and FEEL cooler at Relay :-)   We’ve also got great new music planned from Josiah and Alyssa Eckart Band, along with all the “normal” food and fun that makes actionchurch ANYTHING but a normal Sunday morning at church!
