actionchurch Crew Member: Raphael Caloia III

He helps run the sound for actionchurch and books the bands that perform every Sunday. He claims that there is nothing quirky about him, but others might disagree. Let me introduce to you the incredible Raphael Caloia III!

What do you do here at actionchurch?

  • I book the bands, run sound, and basically I’m Josiah’s secretary.

How did you first get involved?

  • I’ve been coming to actionchurch on and off since the beginning. After a while, I left my old church and started to come here on a regular basis. They were begging people to run sound, so i told them that I can and they put me to work right away.

What is your favorite thing about actionchurch?

  • I really like the community. From the first day I started with volunteering everyone seemed to welcome me. I like the atmosphere that this crew brings.

What do you do outside of actionchurch?

  • I work at Target Pharmacy and at a catering company.

What are your hobbies?

  • Play music, play video games, read, and watch TV shows.

Is there anything quirky about you?

  • I don’t really think so. I’m kind of a bland person.

Has Josiah made you cry?

  • Josiah’s never made me cry. I know that he’s just being mean to be mean. He’s just lonely and needs a hug. So, if you see him, go give him a hug. His being mean is a cry for help.

What is the most memorable moment you have of Pastor Don?

  • Probably the time when the band didn’t e-mail us the lyrics. Don was freaking out that they weren’t going to make it. I know that it would be fine and they would show up, but he was freaking out.

How has actionchurch changed you?

  • It has made me stronger in my faith and it has given me a good experience to act on what I say I believe.

Do you have a favorite scripture or some words of wisdom that you would like to share with the people of actionchurch?

  • 35 Jesus wept. ” (John 11:35, any version of the Bible)
