Disconnected…

disconnected

We’re back online after a lightning strike  took out our cable modem.  On one hand I feel sorta proud of myself.  I was relentless.  I wouldn’t take no for an answer.  I tested and trouble-shooted  (trouble-shot???).  I even did the dreaded “wait on hold with comcast while you slowly grow older and die” thing…    I could not live with the idea of not being able to access the “interweb” from anywhere in our network.  I refused to be “disconnected”!

On the other hand Inow  feel kind of guilty.  I’ve been “disconnected” from God for a whole lot longer than 24 hours in my lifetime.  Days. Weeks.  Even months would go by without communicating with my creator.  It didn’t seem like such a big deal.  Not worth the effort to “reconnect”.  I’ve had broken relationships with friends and family that have certainly lasted longer than 24 hours.  I wasn’t nearly so relentless in my quest to repair those broken connections…

How about you?  What connections are “broken” in your life?  Are there any that you could repair?  …even if it will be difficult?   Are you willing to do the work necessary to “reconnect”?
