Haven't I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don't be timid; don't get discouraged. God, your God, is with you every step you take.
Then Joshua gave orders to the people's leaders: "Go through the camp and give this order to the people: 'Pack your bags. In three days you will cross this Jordan River to enter and take the land God, your God, is giving you to possess.

Do we have a real estate agent who is doing the leg work? If not, I have some friends who can help, but we need an idea of square footage and how much $ we have for rent.

Also was thinking that someone (who is good with PR) should get in touch with WJTL and ask them if they have a forum where we could reach their business listeners….someone might have some space to offer.

This may be a little off the beaten path location wise but in Manchester the Giant store moved down the street and the old spot
is currently open. I did hear a rumor that there might be a bowling alley already planned but that was the “town folks talking”, nothing official. It might be worth looking into so I thought I would just throw it out there.

also I’ve gotten one response to my post on craigslist about our “homeless church” someone told me that in strinestown there is a place called HOT or house of terror and that they often rent out there large space which she says is “just as nice as club 19 if not nicer” the only problem is that its a bit off the well traveled path but it is right off 83…heres the contact # she gave… 717.266.8626

The house of terror club was just built in the last two years and is across the street from the acutal “haunted house” I haven’t been there but it is a new place…and it’s only 10 minutes from me

Carly,
Mosers restaurant looks like a cool find. Keep up the good work! Also check out LaSala Night Club (behind 4 points sheraton) – don’t know if they would lease us space on sunday mornings or not.

Lincoln Intermediate is now in the Old Central High School – would keep us close to where we are, might afford a little more space and allow us to get creative with areas for the kids and little babies….don’t know if they would rent us some space…Maybe we could barter some childrens evening programming, lawn mowing, cleaning etc. to help with rent.

There is a building for Lease through ROCK on E. Market St., just across from Home Depot. It use to be an Auto Body store w/ 2,700+ sq. ft.. Not sure what the price would be but it has parking as well. Found it on LoopNet.com

Here’s an update.
We have been offered a building to buy which is located right on George St. just past the American Speed Center. It’s 3 floors and a street level basement. It would be a sales agreement with NO payments for the first FIVE YEARS. The money we would be paying for rent (about $2,000 per month) would be used to renovate the building they way we want it. It is a complete BLANK canvas now. We would need plumbing, electric, heat & air, along with paint. After 5 years, the monthly payments would be the same as we are paying for rent now. The possibilities are endless. I encourage everyone to pray about this and ask God if this is the answer. By owning our own place, we are no longer at the mercy of someone saying “I’m not renewing the lease”
Don and I will go thru the building after he gets back from his trip. If you can give your time and talents, we could have our own building that under normal circumstances we could never afford. Think about it.

Don here checking in from Missouri. I’m really encouraged to see all the thought and effort going into searching for our next venue. Keep praying…keep searching. Were looking forward to checking out some great opportunities when we get back next week. Thank you all!

Hoping and praying that the place Jerry is talking about can fall through for Action Church. It would be nice to not have to worry about renewing a lease and having all the time to do what is needed to keep such a great place going. Fingers crossed!

Don and I just “toured” the building at 1360 N. George St. to see if there is anyway we could make this work and be the new home of ActionChurch. The amount of work needed is overwhelming, the money needed for materials, heat/AC, electric, plumbing, paint etc. would choke a goat! But it’s there if we can pull it off. I would like everyone to pray hard about this, cause this is one decison not to be taken lightly. If anyone has any questions, feel free to call me 843-4230

If we can pull it off – wouldn’t it be awesome to be able to offer the bands a venue for their “concerts”…part of their take at the door could be donated to charity!
What if we could offer other “non-profits” like Bridge of Hope, etc some of the upstairs spaces under the same conditions….rent free – if they fix up that space????
I’m all in for painting – cleaning – non skilled labor…..Checked out the building! It is fantastic – so many, many possibilities – truly exciting. God has truly blessed AC’s mission.

The building that Jerry wrote about sounds like an awesome opportunity for Action Church. OUR OWN BUILDING! I just started reading the posts, so I will certainly start praying. I am so excited to see what God has in store for us!

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to check in and say we are running down all the leads being sent in. I love the conversation that is happening and I have a feeling that even after we find the new venue we will use this forum to track down all the gear and goodies we will need to make it “actionchurch”. Keep it up!
The comments were down but are now open for business. Thanks everyone for the tips and Ideas. Love the old Giant store…turned out to be nearly 100K sq/ft and a tad out of our budget…but it is still sitting

Jerry is letting me tag along to a meeting today with the group that runs the old Central School Directly behind Club 19. I’ll try to be quiet and not mess anything up
We are also still pursueing some possibilities with West Manchester Mall. Keep praying…and keep your eyes open…if that makes any sense!

The old Town Sound building on Rt 30 is for lease. There is a small garage type building on Market STreet across from Home Depot. Have they already been mentioned?

I called the lease number on the old Danskin building. They were not easy to understand, but I think they guy told me there used to be a church in there. We can have as much space as we want and configure it however we want. $4.75 sq. ft. Does that sound right?

There is an actual “church” building just off Locust Grove Road that looks abandoned. It is a bit out of the way…but we could “unchurch” it and make it seem more like us. Looks like about the right size and great parking.

How much do they want for the old Pfaltzgraff outlet. It had a really neat lay out/floor plan as far as providing space for families, etc.

Was out for lunch today with hubby. There is an old vacant building on Rt. 30 just past Hooters (nice touch) on the right hand side. Colony Business Building or something like that. Number 707…also maybe Jerry could do a lot of talking and try to get the Lone Star building or the old Bob Evans building. I’m a pretty good cook….maybe we could upgrade to MTO omelets instead of donuts….:)

I just gave an update of what is happening in our search for a new venue. http://actionchurch.com/2009/10/27/moving-update/
Thanks for all your prayers, ideas, and tips. Keep it up. As you can see from what is happening already- God is definitely “going ahead” of us as a church and preparing the way for something amazing!

Are there some ways to make the service more interactive and participatory and still feel like actionchurch?
