We all start a new year with a clean, empty calendar. Often it’s seen as an opportunity to figuratively (and literally) wipe the slate clean. The new year is a fresh, new, blank page waiting to be filled.

And that’s kind of how I have been feeling. Blank. Empty. Like a page waiting to be filled. I think I’m feeling that dreaded “writer’s block”…..sitting here in front of a plain, white, blank page…..thinking – what can I possibly say about being a “Christian” that hasn’t already been said before.

NOTHING.

But – what I can tell you is what the bible says AND what I believe. It isn’t new. It certainly isn’t hip or radical. It simply is. Straight from pages of black and white (and sometimes red – if it’s really important) that are chocked full of centuries old wisdom….. drum roll – please!

But what does it say?

The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, THAT is the message concerning faith that we proclaim: If you DECLARE with your mouth,
JESUS IS LORD, and BELIEVE in your heart that GOD RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD,
you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified,
and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
Romans 10 : 8 – 10

SIMPLE.

Believe and declare. That’s what us Christians do. Believe and declare.
