We are now just two days away from serving at Relay for Life. Trucks and trailers are being loaded. Leaders are checking and re-checking their lists. Last minute emails and texts are flying. Others are working extra hours so they can “take off work” on Friday and Saturday (and work even harder). There are so many questions, so many contingencies, so many unforeseen issues to deal with when serving at an event this size. At this point all that is left is to say is what Followers of Jesus have been saying since the very beginning-
Can a small church like actionchurch actually do something really big when they trust God, take a leap of faith, and work really, really, really hard together?
Come and see…
I’ve seen the T-shirts and the signs, but what does it actually mean to “Love God, Love People, and Take action”?
Come and see…
Do my donations to actionchurch actually make a difference to those outside of the church?
Come and see…
Is it possible to laugh harder than you ever have…while working harder than you ever do?
Come and see…
Do some people actually stay up for 24 hrs together…on a football field…without a court order…to volunteer?
Come and see…
Can God actually use MY skills and talents to make a difference in our community?
Come and see…
Finally, is it ACTUALLY better to give than receive…really…or is that just something church people say to get you to give more?
Come and see for yourself.
I hope you will come and see for yourself at the York School of Technology Football Field 1pm Friday 6/21 to 1 pm Saturday 6/21.
“45 Philip went to look for Nathanael and told him, “We have found the very person Moses and the prophets wrote about! His name is Jesus, the son of Joseph from Nazareth.” 46 “Nazareth!” exclaimed Nathanael. “Can anything good come from Nazareth?”“Come and see for yourself,” Philip replied.” John 1:45-46
