Last Sunday we celebrated the Resurrection of Jesus on Easter.  It’s the high point of the Gospel story. It’s amazing to remember how God turned the lowest point in history into the highest.  People pack churches everywhere.  It’s a celebration!

However, for the followers of Jesus who huddled together in anticipation of more violence from the powerful forces that crucified their leader, it wasn’t exactly a party atmosphere.  In fact, the words that best describe the state of the apostles would be disappointed, disillusioned, and barely hanging on.  Into those shattered and scattered few walked a newly-alive-again Jesus.   This month we’ll discover what he said afterwards…his “AFTERWORDS”…that somehow transformed his frightened and weak followers into the powerhouses of faith that were recorded just a few short weeks later in the Book of Acts.  Even better, we’ll discover how Jesus’  “AFTERWORDS” are still powerfully effective for his followers today!
